Editorial Reviews
Product Description:
Written in her wonderfully honest, edgy, passionate and often hilarious voice, Tiffanie DeBartolo tells the story of Eliza Caelum, a young music journalist, and Paul Hudson, a talented songwriter and lead singer of the band Bananafish. Eliza’s reverence for rock is equaled only by Paul’s, and the two fall wildly in love.
When Bananafish is signed by a big corporate label, and Paul is on his way to becoming a major rock star, Eliza must make a heartbreaking decision that leads to Paul’s sudden disappearance and a surprise knock-your-socks-off ending.

Customer Reviews
It has to be said by Ava G
I loved this book so much that I felt compelled to come on here and write it a 5 star review. I don’t normally bother. But then, I don’t normally get lucky enough to stumble upon books as consuming and heart-wrenching and glorious as this one.
Let me say it again, I loved How to Kill a Rock Star. I’ve not read anything else by Tiffanie Debartolo, but I intend to now, and I have a feeling she’ll be an author I appreciate for a long time to come.
I would not describe the writing as ‘inelegant.’ The whole book is alive; it has a pulse. The characters are real, and they will make you feel things. When I started the book, I knew I was going to love it. It just has that right sort of rhythm that makes you forget you’re even reading fiction. I tried to stretch it out and make it last, reading only a chapter or so at a time. But eventually I reached a point where I was just too gripped not to stay up all night and finish it, so that’s what I did.
I sobbed for a few pages. Honestly, it broke my heart. But then it all came back together in the most beautiful way, and I was laughing and smiling for the ending. I am so happy I read this book. It totally swept me in and filled me up.
Tiffanie Debartolo has done something amazing here.
Debartolo did it again! by Sara L. Choate
When I read God-Shaped Hole last year I was hooked. I added How to Kill a Rockstar immediately and patiently waited for the day I had money to buy it. I was so worth the wait! This book was interesting, comical, heart-felt, and all around good. I loved it! She needs to write more!
My first review by Jessica Morris
I never write reviews, but for this book it was a must. Unbelievably written. I laughed, cried, and went through an emotional rollercoaster when I read this book. I got halfway through, and wanted to read one chapter a couple nights ago and couldn’t put it down. I was up all night just to finish. Amazing book, definately a must read for any romance reader!
How to Kill A Good Book by Disaster in a Halo
First, start with some cool characters, a fun setting, a great topic (who doesn’t love rock stars??) Spice it up with an edgy romance. Toss in some reference to awesome music like Depeche Mode, the Cure, and Jeff Buckley. Then have your character do something completely unbelievable - for shock value, for plot enhancement, and not for truth of story. Congratulations! You have killed your book!
Sorry, I couldn’t look past the completely ridiculous plot twist that made absolutely no sense whatsoever in terms of character. Especially considering the themes of art and truth that ran throughout the book, this just couldn’t be forgiven.
The one good thing I can say is that if reading this book makes someone go buy a CD of one of the aforementioned artists, then I guess reading it was worth it.
